Back in late 2019 through to early 2020 Australia unfortunately suffered the worst series of bushfires in recorded history. Viveca, the founder of Koaleyos, had grown up in parts of the remote Aussie bush that had been devastated and was deeply saddened by the loss of wildlife and habitats. She felt compelled to do something to help - hence the launch of Koaleyos!

In 2021 we started exploring the world of Leuca and Gumi Koaleyo – two young koalas who were adventurous, loved nature and the planet! They started off as hand-knitted characters who travelled the globe literally before being transformed into adorable digital characters. Koaleyos are locally made in West End, Brisbane and are full of planet positive information which they love to share with young mini people everywhere.
